Agence Valérie Périnel
The redesign of a matchmaking agency's website, losing nothing it had built up
Klamath Studio carried out the complete redesign of the Valérie Périnel matchmaking agency's website, in the Isère and in Lyon. The site speaks to single people of every age and circumstance, without sidelining any of them.
The problem it started from
A matchmaking agency sells trust. People choose one for a deeply personal step, often after a separation or a bereavement, and check online, in complete privacy, that it is serious before they dare book a meeting.
The existing site had years behind it: articles, testimonials, videos, and addresses the search engines knew. Its image and its technical foundations had to change without losing any of that capital.
What we built
Three directions presented as mock-ups, one chosen with her, then matched to the colours of her logo. Every situation has its own way in: young singles, seniors, meeting someone after a divorce or a bereavement, same-sex couples. Every page ends on a simple step: a number to call, a callback request where a first name and a phone number are enough, or a questionnaire that earns a selection of profiles. Every request keeps proof of the consent given.
The site is built to be found, on search engines as well as in the answers of AI assistants: each office has its own page, the testimonials and videos have found their place again, and the questions people ask before walking into an agency have their answers.
WordPress was chosen because it fits her needs: the founder writes and updates her pages herself, and any provider will be able to take the site over after us. The theme is written for her, with no page builder: nothing superfluous to load, nothing that holds back an update, and WordPress security fixes install themselves.
The constraints it meets
On a subject this personal, two demands pull against each other: discretion towards the people the agency supports, visibility to those looking for it.
Discretion in pictures
Couples photographed from behind, a choice the founder made herself: no face lends its features to a story that is not its own.
Anonymised profiles
The sample profiles carry a borrowed first name, and nothing that would let anyone recognise the person.
Every office on the map
Address, phone, location and the towns served: each office is described to search engines and tied to the agency.
Readable by chat assistants
Every page displays without waiting for a script, no crawler is turned away, and the frequently asked questions are marked up.
No address lost
Every old page the search engines knew leads to its new home.
The site is hers
Hosting in her name, code in her hands, installation written down step by step.
