lux-ion
The website of an independent solar engineering firm
Klamath Studio designed the website of lux-ion, a solar engineering firm based in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It speaks to two audiences with nothing in common, industry professionals on one side, local authorities and farmers on the other, without putting either one behind the other.
The problem it started from
An engineering firm sells expertise, and the people who buy it compare before they consult. They reach the site after a recommendation, to check the firm is serious, or from a local search. The site is not a side channel: it is where the first impression is made.
The visual identity already existed, full brand guidelines included. It had to be served on screen without betraying it, and speak to both audiences without writing two sites.
What we built
A brochure site that shows the method before the promise: services described step by step, with their lead times published where the industry stays vague about the "when". Each audience gets its own way in, on the same level as the other.
A section of technical articles completes it, and nothing goes out without the founder's say: a text is only published once reviewed.
The constraints it meets
A brochure site looks simple. What makes it reliable does not show: faithfulness to a brand, respect for the people who visit, and texts that commit their author.
Brand guidelines kept
The existing identity is applied as it stands. Every adjustment the screen calls for is documented and submitted, never imposed.
Readable by everyone
Brand colours too pale for text were given a measured variant, rather than a correction made by eye.
No outside calls
Fonts, images and scripts are served by the site itself: nothing is loaded from a third-party service during the visit.
Readable without scripts
Every page displays in full even when the browser blocks scripts. They only add comfort.
Legal notices checked
Host, providers and data transfers are named from their own documents, not copied from a template.
Reviewed before publication
An article only exists online once the founder has approved it. Before that, it appears nowhere.
